Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools NVQ Level 2

The STL NVQs are for those supporting teaching and learning in any type of school; primary (including foundation stage); secondary; special; pupil referral units. They cover the role of teaching assistants but have been broadened in scope to include new roles and responsibilities such as:

  • cover supervisio
  • pastoral support
  • bilingual support
  • subject support
  • special educational needs and additional support

Course Aims:

Advise and Guidance NVQ Level 3

A flexible syllabus, enabling training to be tailored to meet specific needs of employers & their employees. It gives participants the opportunity to build and develop more in depth skills within a business environment.

Who will benefit?:

Childcare Learning and Development NVQ Level 3

Building on CCLD Level 2 participants will gain further understanding of theoretical perspectives regarding children’s development; the ability to recognise indicators of additional needs; an understanding of how to adapt practice appropriately according to the development needs of children
The award is aimed at childminders, daycare supervisors, SureStart workers and community nursery nurses who may have some supervisory responsibilities

Entry requirements:

Childcare Learning and Development NVQ Level 2

This qualification is designed for people who work with children and young people aged 0 –16 yrs in a child care setting. Level 2 is designed primarily for those who engage in face to face work with children and families in a variety of settings such as: Daycare, Crèches, Pre-school groups, playgroups, community based services.

Who will benefit:

The award is aimed at nursery assistants, crèche workers; special educational needs assistants working in a supporting role

Entry requirements:

Dental Nursing NVQ Level 3

What you will study?

The taught programme covers relevant subjects which includes: The role of the dental nurse, reception, clerical and administrative duties, anatomy and physiology, dental anatomy and physiology, pathology and microbiology, causes and prevention dental disease, sterilisation, instruments and equipment, dental drugs and materials, restorative dentistry, minor oral surgery, anaesthesia, emergencies, dental radiography, orthodontics, and Health and Safety at Work.

How you will learn?

Playwork NVQ Level 3

Who is it for?

Playworkers who are supervising other members of staff within playwork settings.

What entry qualifications do you need?

No formal qualifications but significant experience in playwork settings.

What age range of children is the award about?

4 to 16 years.

How will you be assessed?

Playwork NVQ Level 2

This qualification is designed for people who work with children in a Playwork setting such as; after school clubs, breakfast clubs, lunch-time supervision, holiday play schemes, nurseries and crèches.

No formal qualifications are required, but participants must be working in an appropriate setting with children and participants must be over 16 years of age. To be eligible for funded places under the Train to Gain scheme individuals must be aged 19 or over, be in employment and have been resident in Europe for the last three years.

Health and Social Care NVQ Level 3

Aims

This NVQ is a nationally recognised and flexible qualification from City and Guilds that enables candidates to have a qualification that relates directly to their supervisory caring role within the care establishment.

Assessment

Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2

This NVQ has been especially designed for care workers in the full range of care settings in the public, private or voluntary services. The NVQs in Health and Social care are the required or recommended qualification for over 80% of the social care workforce.
