Brickwork NVQ Level 2

A flexible syllabus, enabling training to be tailored to meet specific needs of employers and their employees. It gives participants within the construction industry the opportunity to build and develop more in depth construction skills, covering subjects such as masonry, concrete, drainage, plastering and roofing.

Duration:

12-18 Months

Who will benefit:

The qualification is designed for those who are currently working in construction or building work to support their understanding and development.

Entry requirements:

No formal entry requirements, although working within the building trade is essential in order for the participant to build their work-based portfolio.

Course Aims:

This is a short, flexible programme to further develop individual skills and knowledge of the industry whilst gaining hands on experience.
 
Brickwork NVQ L2:

Eight units must be completed for the full NVQ. Each candidate must complete all the mandatory units, plus four optional units.

Mandatory units:

  • VR01 Conform to general workplace safety
  • VR02 Conform to efficient work practices
  • VR03 Move and handle resources
  • VR40 Erect masonry structures
  • VR41 Set out masonry structures

Plus any units from the following

Optional units A:

  • VR42 Erect masonry cladding
  • VR43 Lay domestic drainage
  • VR44 Erect thin joint masonry structures
  • VR45 Place and finish non-specialist concrete unit
  • VR46 Plaster and render surfaces
  • VR47 Maintain slate and tile roofing
