Who Will Benefit:
This NVQ is aimed at those currently employed as a general hand/handyman /caretaker/ maintenance assistant, whose job role requires them to deliver a quality standard of repair work within the site in which they work. Would also suit a tradesperson wishing to gain a more general construction/maintenance qualification.
Entry Requirements:
No formal entry requirements, although learners should be employed within a maintenance or construction sector/department and have a good understanding of maintenance techniques in order to build their work-based portfolio.
Course Aims:
On completing this qualification, learners will be able to understand and appreciate the need to carry out maintenance repair work in a correct and professional manner, whilst ensuring customer care and health & safety are adhered to at all times.
In order to achieve the full Maintenance Operations NVQ, candidates must complete all mandatory units as well as 3 optional groups. Candidates must also provide a complete work based portfolio.
Also, included within this NVQ is a 5 day block of training, providing candidates with the underpinning knowledge which they need in order to carry out best practice with maintenance.
