Who is it for?:
Housekeeping staff working in the Hotel, leisure, self-catering, bed & breakfast industries and care occupations.
It can also help those who are progressing to Head Housekeeper and other supervisory roles.
Skills & Knowledge gained:
Employees will gain skills and knowledge relating to safe, hygienic and secure environments, team working, cleaning and servicing a range of areas and using different chemicals and equipment.
Optional units include maintaining house keeping supplies, providing linen services, deep cleaning and servicing and cleaning meeting/conference rooms.
Eight units must be completed for the full NVQ. Each candidate must complete all the mandatory units, plus four optional units.
Mandatory units- All must be completed.
- Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
- Contribute to effective teamwork
- Clean and service a range of areas
- Work using different chemicals and equipment
Plus four of the following:
Optional units
- Collect linen and make beds
- Clean windows from the inside
- Prepare, service and clear meeting and conference rooms
- Maintain housekeeping supplies
- Clean and protect floors
- Clean carpets and soft furnishings
- Provide a linen service
- Carry out periodic room servicing and deep cleaning
- Give a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
