A flexible syllabus, enabling training to be tailored to meet specific needs of employers and their employees. It gives participants within the plumbing industry the opportunity to build and develop more in depth plumbing skills covering subjects such as hot & cold water systems, central heating systems, common plumbing principles & practices as well as health & safety.

The qualification is designed for those who are currently working in the plumbing industry, to support & strengthen their understanding and development.
Entry Requirements?:
No formal entry requirements, although working within the plumbing industry is essential in order for the participant to build their work-based portfolio.
This course is designed to be part of a package of training for people employed in the plumbing industry as new entrants, to provide them with the basic skills to carry out plumbing tasks in a competent manner, whilst at the same time, have the knowledge & understanding to ensure they are able to work safely in compliance with the water & building regulations.
Assessment will be by short practical and related knowledge tests for each unit of the course. When a given number of units have been successfully completed, an NVQ is awarded. All mandatory units must be completed plus the additional unit as shown.

- Unit 201 Maintain the safe working environment when undertaking plumbing work activities
- Unit 202 Maintain effective working plumbing working relationships
- Unit 203 Contribute to the improvement of the plumbing working environment
- Unit 205 Install non complex plumbing systems
- Unit 206 Decommission non complex plumbing systems
- Unit 207 Maintain non complex plumbing systems and components
