The Research Centre

The Research Centre, City College Norwich was established in 1996. As a centre it offers an eclectic range of methodologies specialising in qualitative data gathering techniques particularly action research, case study and evaluation.

Projects receiving European, national or regional funding have been carried out in areas such as social policy, education and training, business and management, information technology, organisational restructuring and small business development.

Research Centre staff undertake a wide range of research projects, programmes and consultancies; bringing an imaginative expertise to address complex issues in work and social environments. Using both traditional and innovative research approaches, whether qualitative or quantitative, we are responsible for a significant portfolio of projects in both public and private sectors.

Within the Centre we have staff with the expertise to utilise IT- based statistical packages for questionnaire and open-ended survey work. Others possess highly developed skills in interviewing, focus group work, observation and documentation analysis. In fact, teams can be brought together to provide mixed-method approaches to difficult problems. Strategies can therefore be imported from different arenas of research; promoting synergy and new perspectives on problems and issues.
